Hello! Hope you’re doing fine. It is no secret that Valentina and I love makeup. However, we only use a fair amount when going to parties or events because we believe in a more natural face. Even though everyone has the authority to use whatever they want, it can’t be denied that everything in excess is bad for you, even makeup. It can clog your pores and age your skin.
Personally, I only wear lipstick every time I go out – it is a must and I never go out without it, or else I look pale and washed out (and it doesn’t damage your skin, if anything, it keeps your lips hydrated. WIN-WIN situation). However, if I were to use a little bit more makeup it would be to brighten up my face and make me look more awaken. I believe that less is more when it comes to makeup, and if you know when, how, and what to apply, you can take the most advantage out of the products you own.
Sunscreen is very important. Make sure to apply it everyday, even if you’re only going to the mall. You can use oil free sunscreen that feels like normal skin and doesn’t leave you greasy or shiny at all. To add more coverage you can use a tinted moisturiser or sunblock that protects your skin and can also cover small discoloration or blemishes.
Add a pop of white matte/shimmer shadow to the inner corner of your eye to give the illusion of more awake eyes. Make sure to extend it all around that corner, reaching your upper and lower lower lash line. Curling your lashes and applying mascara will also make your eyes bigger and more awaken, you can do this if you want.
If you have naturally flushed cheeks, you can totally skip this. In case you don’t, you can use the pinch technique to get a natural blush (however you’d need to do this throughout the day), or you can apply any blush to give yourself a wash of color. As an extra, you could also apply highlighter to your cheekbones and temples to add a greater luminosity and balance out the the shimmer in the eye.
Finally, you can never complete a look without the lips. Matte or frosty, cream or liquid, you can literally choose whichever color and finish you want. I first apply a lip balm to hydrate my lips, especially if I’m applying a matte shade or one that is more drying. Using lipgloss and lighter colors will make your lips appear fuller, while dark colors like reds, plums and purples will make them appear thinner.
The result is a very subtle and natural makeup look that you can use every day without worrying that it will damage your skin. Always remember to wash your face before and after applying any product to ensure that you won’t layer products over impurities and grease, and reflect healthy and clean skin, which you can get by using this avocado mask 😉
Hope you liked it!
