What’s in My Bag – Kit Salvavidas de Mujeres

I’ve always been very cautious and prepared for most situations; I take everything I need and everything others may need. I guess I inherited that from my grandmothers. I prefer bigger and more spacious handbags/bags/purses that fit all that stuff.

However, if you peek at my bags, they look quite empty. This is because I have a secret – what I call the “Kit Salvavidas de Mujeres” in Spanish, or Women’s Lifesaving Kit. It is a small makeup bag that has everything from makeup to salt and pepper. Even if it sounds weird, you never know when you’ll end up in the jungle without spices and need them 😛

A peek inside…

The main purpose of my kit is to be extremely portable and practical, and carry everything that I use and may need every time I go out. My main contents are a portion of my lipstick/lipgloss collection, hand sanitizer, bandaids (many types and sizes in a small resealable bag, and a small mirror. Other products include:

  • A nail clipper (not that I use it outside my home)
  • Perfume
  • Bobby pins and elastics
  • Mini hairbrush
  • Travel-size soap
  • Mini sugar, salt and pepper, and hand wipes in a bigger resealable bag

You can also make your own Lifesaving Kit by getting any small makeup bag and filling it with the things you always realize you need when you go out. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Makeup: lipsticks, powder, blotting paper
  • Mirror
  • Travel size shampoo/conditioner
  • Women stuff (you know what I mean)
  • Sewing kit
  • Emergency contact information or money
  • Toothpicks
  • Sunblock
