I wish I could buy a house/apartment/room/WHATEVER just to decorate it. I’m in love with good design, and I try to find inspiration everywhere and keep imagining what my dream house will look like. My only preoccupation: THERE ARE SO MANY BEAUTIFUL THINGS OUT THERE. And I’m afraid that I will go for something and then regret it if I see something different and better!
I would mix wood with white space, and marble floors. I lOVE marble – it looks so elegant and classy. It wouldn’t be antique or vintage, but it wouldn’t be simple or too modern either. I would describe it as clean but cute, girly and classy.
Cute & Bright
I would choose colors wisely. Depending on whether I have a lot of space or less space, colors would be either darker (without going very dark at all) or lighter. I would use a lot of white but also a lot of pastels like yellow and pink. My goal would be to look at my walls and always be like “wow, I love this color”.
A while ago I published a post on tiny houses, and that trend has given me major home inspiration ever since – especially in the area of functionality and design. I’ve come to conclude that most things that are beautiful can also be functional at the same time. Take stairs with drawers, for example:
Another synonym of functionality, these acrylic side or coffee tables that fit right under each other and also save space, look modern, and can be used for so many things since they can be easily moved around. I’ve seen them and used them multiple times and are such an essential – when people come over, lazy days, decor etc.
If the chair, sofa or bed doesn’t invite you to sit on it, then it’s not the one. The comfortableness of furniture is very important because at the end of the day, you’ll be sitting/laying/sleeping/relaxing in it, and so will your friends and family. There’s nothing better than a comfortable room where everyone fits, is cozy, relaxed, and can pass all night hanging out.
To be honest, I don’t really care. Small means cuter and less cleaning, bigger is sometimes unnecessarily big and scary. So the perfect house would be the size that I need to meet my needs and nothing more.
Is this how you also imagine your own house? How is your dream home?
